![]() Their commitment to excellence is evident in this new version of the NOC’s foundational system used for structuring and describing occupations in the Canadian labour market and for managing the collection, analysis and reporting of occupational statistics. The NOC 2021 Version 1.0 has been made possible through the significant contributions of a number of individuals and groups, including a team of occupational research analysts and assistants from both ESDC and StatCan. The National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 is published, in partnership by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and Statistics Canada (StatCan). This revision is extensive the last structural revision was NOC 2011. The NOC 2021 Version 1.0 also introduces a new 5-digit hierarchical structure, compared to a 4-digit hierarchical structure in the previous versions of the classification. The NOC 2021 Version 1.0 overhauls the "Skill Level" structure by introducing a new categorization representing the degree of Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities (TEER) required for an occupation. ![]() ![]() The publication of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 is the thirtieth anniversary of the standard occupational classification system and it introduces a major structural change.
